Christmas in Florida…what a treat!

That’s right, after ten long Kentucky Christmas’ we traveled back south to Florida to celebrate. Albeit a little differently – Disney World style :) It was a great trip and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed it! I loved getting away from work and doing something different for the holidays.

I had wondered if we were going to get to go to a Christmas Eve service while we were there. It did work out, but differently than I had envisioned. Disney offers a Candlelight Processional service from the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas with a narrator and music each night. I was just hoping that all the music would be correct and the readings would portray the Christmas story correctly. Praise the Lord! It was over an hour long of music praising our great Heavenly Father in the middle of a park devoted to self service. The Christmas story was told and they even went so far as to talk about Christ’s death on the cross. That is when they stopped the story…but I know that people heard the story for the first time, because that theater was packed! I saw a lady sitting a few rows up from me with tears in her eyes as though moved by the story of the Son, but I was not anywhere near her to talk to her. Pray if you have time that this event will continue to be on all the people’s minds and hearts and open them to the wonder of Our Savior!

We spend many hours wandering around the parks and riding rides, but I also was able to find time to read some and relax. On Wednesday afternoon I found a hammock and camped out for over 3 hours and just read and slept! That is just what I needed :)
